Moto G8 Plus and Moto E6 Play Compare

This year Motorola has been responsible for filling the windows more than ever with three different batches of mobiles, adding a second round of the Moto G to the latest Motorola One series. Today was the day of the new Moto G8 Plus and Moto E6 Play, presenting a new phone of these two range and bringing the Moto One Macro to the European market.

What we see, therefore, is that it is not per se a new Moto G line except for the G8 Plus. Moto G8 Plus

Starting with the one that presents itself as the top of this Motorola family, the Moto G8 Plus has a 6.3-inch screen and FullHD + resolution (2,280 × 1,080 px) with a 19: 9 ratio and notch for the front camera. A diagonal that does not depart much from what we saw in its predecessor, also opting for the notch to maximize the screen surface.

At the heart of the Moto G8 Plus we find the Snapdragon 665, a processor of this year's Qualcomm mid-range remittance, a processor optimized to improve the gaming experience among other additions. The RAM in this case is 4 GB and the storage is 128 GB UFS 2.1.

What changes less is the software, although for a good reason: the brand maintains its essence, in turn an identity sign, with few additions on Android stock. Added as Moto Actions, providing some functions so that the handling can be customized and accommodated to a greater extent.

The battery is another differential element. For its part, the Moto G8 Plus improves its predecessor with a larger battery, going from those 3,000 mAh of the G7 Plus to 4,000 mAh. In addition, they have commented that they have improved the part of the audio with stereo speakers that reproduce twice as powerful sound and 50% bass, which we will have to wait to check until we can use it.

Taking advantage of the photographic capabilities of the sensor and fashion in sensors, the Moto G8 Plus integrates a triple rear camera with a 48 megapixel sensor for the main camera, with pixel binning. The secondary camera is a wide angle with a 16 megapixel sensor and the sensor dedicated to capturing depth information of 5 megapixels is maintained, all accompanied by the laser focus.

On the front we see a 25 megapixel sensor, also higher resolution than the G7 Plus (12 megapixels). And as for the app and software features, Motorola joins the night mode car with Night Vision mode, in addition to incorporating the wide-angle action camera function like the Moto One Action.

Moto E6 Play

The most contained and economical proposal of the new Motorola, seeking to be a rival in the entry range. This is the heir of the Moto E6 Plus, which we could thoroughly test a few days ago and that is a little above price compared to this new, more basic E6.

The front is very different from the Moto G and we have considerable frames, although housing what looks like the main speaker combined with the headset, since we do not see a slot for it at the bottom or another location (we are waiting for be able to confirm it). The mobile integrates a 5.5-inch screen, also IPS but with HD + resolution

It comes in two colors (black and blue) and has a very bright shiny finish made of plastic. On the back, the fingerprint reader placed under the module for the rear camera, which is accompanied by the flash.

The brand continues to limit its mobile phones from entry level to connection level and in this case we see traditional microUSB. The battery is also somewhat more modest than that of the G8 Plus, although remaining at the height of the G7. It is a 3,000 mAh battery, to confirm if you have any type of fast charge.

Price and availability of Moto G8 Plus and Moto E6 Play

The Moto G8 Plus will be available in two colors, pink and blue, in a design that also provides water resistance. The prices that we know for the moment are the following:

Moto G8 Plus with 4 GB / 64 GB: 269 euros.
Moto G8 Plus with 4 GB / 128 GB: To be determined.
For its part, the Moto E6 Play will be available in December for 109 euros, leaving it as a more basic and affordable option. In this case it is available in black and blue.
