In addition, the smartphone is somewhat thick (almost 9 mm) and heavy in hand (199.8 grams).
The terminal is not original in the design except for the different touch that the camera module gives it. The central part seems to be starring four cameras but in reality it is three cameras and just below them, the fingerprint reader . The fourth camera along with the flash have been taken out of that module and are separated in the design.
That configuration makes it strange to identify ourselves by touching a module where we know the camera lenses are. It is not difficult to end up touching the lens of a camera instead of the fingerprint sensor. Biometric identification is very good with both fingerprints and face identification, although the second option does not work without light.
One of the purchase arguments of this Redmi Note 8 Pro should be on the screen . Being a Note model we face a large diagonal, 6.53 inches but just resolution (2,340 x 1,080 pixels). The good news is the use of the front over 91% .
Without extravagant designs, there is the presence of drop-type notch that we can hide in the phone options. By the way, right next to the notch there is a tiny LED for notifications that go so small unnoticed except in the dark.
The LCD screen of the Redmi Note 8 Pro is its weakest element especially in terms of color fidelity
The panel is of the LCD type , we have dark mode and we can modify the appearance of the screen by touching both contrast and tone, although there is hardly any difference more than when we modify cold or warm tones.
The panel is well calibrated as standard but the viewing angles are poor and the screen loses contrast and brightness just by varying the inclination slightly. In addition, color fidelity is not what we expected in this range. At least the brightness is sufficient for correct outdoor viewing. And be careful if you wear polarized glasses because the screen is canceled with them.
If you like to use your own headphones, congratulations because this phone keeps the 3.5 mm port along with the USB-C charging . Also next to it we have the main speaker, which is not stereo and that if we cover it completely cancels the sound of the terminal, which is powerful but with relative low volume it begins to saturate and sound something artificial.
A Mediatek processor with liquid cooling
Xiaomi has made a risky bet by choosing a Mediatek Helio G90T for its new Redmi Note 8 Pro. The reason is to provide it with packaging to play thanks to its liquid cooling .
