HONOR 9X: Multireflex Rear and pop-up Front Camera to be Closer to The "all Screen" in The mid-range

Juvenile and containing more price than its Huawei relatives, HONOR phones are usually an attractive proposition for those looking for more casual designs at prices somewhat lower than others without giving up some of the fashion features. That's where the HONOR 9X fits, a mobile that updates the design of the HONOR 8X by adding one more rear camera and bringing the front to a removable module for convenience.

Although we met some first versions for other markets, this new HONOR 9X has a somewhat different configuration and is the one that arrives in Europe. Let's see what is the proposal for the mid-range of this manufacturer, which in this case escapes the blockade of the United States to Huawei and integrates Android 9 with all Google services.

The "all screen" reaches the mid-range of HONOR

As we said, the front camera goes inside the mobile to appear periscope style, leaving a clearer front, according to the manufacturer to 91% of screen use by the front. A screen of 6.59 inches IPS type and FullHD + resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, with a density of 319 pixels per inch.

The front is like this without a notch and with quite thin edges, keeping a chin slightly more than the upper edge, and integrating the headset quite discreetly about where that notch had gone. The speaker is placed in the base, next to the USB type C and the 3.5 mm minijack.

Although part of the most striking is the X design that has the blue version (sapphire blue). It is a finish with concentric strips in the form of X that reflects the light with different nuances, being something different from the rear with holographic reflections that we have been seeing this year especially in these mobiles destined for those looking for something more casual in terms of design.

GPU Turbo 3.0 so that playing is a good experience

Part of the changes we see in this HONOR 9X with respect to that first version we met is in the components. This HONOR 9X integrates the Kirin 710F with its NPU along with 4 GB of RAM (up to 6 GB in other markets outside Europe) and the possibility of expanding the base storage from 128 GB to 600 GB thanks to the microSD.

The battery takes advantage of the volume that remains in this mobile with a considerable screen filling the body with a battery of 4,000 mliamperios / hour, which does not paint anything badly on the paper. We will have to see the influence of the software, EMUI 9.1 on Android 9, and the charging time, since we do not see here a fast charging system of the current ones.

48 megapixels and pop-up camera

HONOR explained that the 3.5 mm jack is part of this terminal because it is something that according to their feedback people want, and more or less the same happens with the 48 megapixel sensor of the main camera, although here we already comment that no all are the megapixels and that resolution does not have to be the panacea either.

It is interesting the size of it, 1/2 inches, which is not bad for that resolution and be a mid-range mobile. The promise: a lot of resolution even by zooming (in this case without telephoto).

What accompanies the main lens is a wide angle of 120 degrees with an 8 megapixel sensor and a 2 megapixel depth sensor that will be used especially in the improvement of portrait mode. A mode that works with people only, but that is still compensated with the opening in addition to the stabilization by artificial intelligence (AIS), adding the night mode that we have seen previously in the brand.

As we saw, it is the first HONOR mobile that integrates a pop-up front camera. The manufacturer explained that the system has a fall detector, protection in case of forced introduction and protection against dust and water.

HONOR 9X versions and prices

The new HONOR 9X maintains common characteristics of the previous 9X and 9X Pro, so the price will probably be around their range. That is, around 250 and 300 euros.
